— THE PROBLEM, THE PRACTICE

## What gets in the way, and the practice for it.

Three things that stop people at this goal, each beside the practice planned to remove it. Each row says whether it runs today or waits for the tutor's early access.

1. Guests notice hesitation immediately — a front-desk interaction that sounds uncertain damages first impressions before the stay begins.

   ### Guest interaction roleplay

The tutor will walk through check-in, concierge questions, reservations and complaints as written scenarios, so the phrasing is ready before a guest is standing there.

   Guest conversations Early access

2. Complaint handling in English requires precise, calm language that many non-native speakers don't have ready under pressure.

   ### Professional tone

The tutor will practise the formal-but-warm register guests expect, with feedback on the words that carry it, so it sounds attentive rather than scripted.

   Guest-facing register Early access

3. International guests use idioms, accents and phrasing that classroom English doesn't prepare you for.

   ### Understanding guests

Listening practice will use two-speaker dialogues written around front-of-house exchanges, with each speaker voiced differently — something Carna's engine already does — so it sounds like a conversation, not a drill.

## Every score on one scale.

Whatever the goal, the engine underneath is the one schools and teams run today: eight skills, each with its own score, on the CEFR scale from A1 to C2.

- **where this path sits on the CEFR scale**: A2–B1 of A1–C2
- **skills Carna scores, each from 0 to 100**: 8

- Every course, ranked by its average score

Carna for Business runs on the same engine today. A trainer sees the group's average, how much has been handed in, and every course with its score, the strongest called out at 80% and up, in one view. Hotels and tourism operators can book a demo now.

FAQ

## Common questions.

Straight answers for the person doing the job, and for whoever rolls it out to the team.

### Is Carna suitable for front-of-house and back-of-house staff?

This path is written for guest-facing roles. For back-of-house teams the Business English path is the closer fit; both run on the same engine.

### Will Carna help with email communication for hospitality?

Yes. The tutor's writing practice will cover the guest-facing emails a front desk sends, with feedback on how the message is organised and the words it chooses.

### Does it cover tourism guide English?

The skills a guide leans on are the ones this path practises: clear spoken explanation, description, and handling questions from a varied audience. A dedicated tour-guiding scenario set is not something we promise yet.
