FAQ
Questions about Carna.
Short answers about the four products, who each one is for, and what is open today.
What is Carna?
Carna is the AI English tutor that knows you, and a family of English products on one AI engine. The Carna app, for learning on your own, is in early access. Carna for Schools and Carna for Business are live: schools and companies use them today to assign English work, mark it the moment it is submitted and see who needs help, with every AI grade a suggestion a teacher decides. Carna Test, a sister product on carnatest.com, certifies English from A1 to C2.
Who is Carna for?
The Carna app is for learners on their own, and it is in early access. Carna for Schools is for K-12 schools, universities and language schools, and Carna for Business is for companies and their teams; both are live today. To certify your English, or to check a candidate's level, there is Carna Test on carnatest.com.
Is the Carna app the same as my school's Carna?
It runs on the same engine and the same CEFR scale. Your school's Carna is run by your teachers, who assign the work and decide every AI grade. The Carna app is for learning on your own: it plans each lesson for you, at your pace.
Can I sign up as an individual learner?
Not yet. The Carna app is in early access and will open with a free plan. Until then there is no individual sign-up: join the early-access list and we write once, when your place opens. Schools and businesses run on Carna today; their pricing is on the pricing page.
What is Carna Test?
Carna Test is Carna's sister product for English certification, on its own site, carnatest.com. It is an AI-first test you take from home, with no appointment and no test centre, and it certifies your level on the CEFR scale, A1 to C2. Its test types, prices and certificates are described there.
What English levels does Carna cover?
The full CEFR range from A1 to C2, in eight steps: A1 and B1 each have an extra step. The Carna app also scores eight skills on their own, each from 0 to 100: speaking, writing, reading, listening, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and general English.
Does Carna replace teachers?
No. In a school, Carna marks what has an answer key and suggests the rest, and the teacher decides every grade. On your own, Carna gives you daily practice and tells you why it chose each step; a good teacher or course still matters, and the two work well together.
Two ways into Carna. One is yours.
