Each person arrives in the right class
Matched on the exact email address
Your school's pre-approved list holds student and teacher email addresses, each with a class. When someone on the list first signs in to Carna, including with Google, they join that class, with no code to hand out. Each entry is used once, and an unused one can be revoked.

No email needed
Email or username, one sign-in box
Students can sign in with a username instead of an email, typed into the same box. When students are imported, the usernames and passwords your school already uses can come with them, and Carna creates only the ones left blank.

- Your school keeps a record of every batch of accounts it issued — who was added, how, by whom and when — and can download it. No password is kept in it.

How do we onboard the whole school?
Import students in bulk from a file with their class names; classes are created as the import runs, and the usernames and passwords your school already uses can come with them. Teachers are created in bulk too, with generated passwords, and the credential set comes out as one download.
How do students and teachers get access?
Three ways: pre-approved email addresses that put each person in the right class on first sign-in; invite codes minted in bulk — school-wide for teachers, per class for students, in an alphabet with no 0/O or 1/I to mistype; or the credentials an admin downloads and hands out.
What can we control from the admin side?
Classes and their teachers, which coursebooks open to which classes, school-wide analytics, an English-only setting for the app, the copy-paste lock for exams, and which notifications your school sends and on which channel.
Who marks the work?
Modules and generated tests are scored when a student submits. An essay arrives with an AI suggestion — a score, a CEFR band and the reasoning — labelled as a suggestion until a teacher confirms or changes it, and the record shows when they did. Your teachers keep the last word.
How is student data handled?
Every account belongs to your school. An admin creates them — in bulk, by invite code or from a pre-approved list — and can take a person off the roster or conclude them at the end of a term. Your school keeps a record of every batch of accounts it issued, with no password in it, and anyone can see their own trusted devices and recent sign-ins.
