Carna for English teachers

Build tests you approve question by question, assign them with a due date, and see who is stuck.

Three ways to start a test, and you approve every question

— THE WEEK, LIGHTER

Where the week goes, and what Carna changes.

Three jobs that eat a teacher's week, each beside the part of the app that takes it on.

In the teacher app

A lesson's work, in one app.

Build the test, assign it, read the class: the screens teachers use today, shown with a sample school.

No blank page.

Choose where to start, then set the level, the categories and the question types. Nothing is generated until you have set them, and you preview, edit and approve every question before the test is saved.

Deadlines that hold.

Choose the module, the whole class or just a few students, the due date and the attempts. One action assigns and publishes it.

— MARKING

The key marks. You decide.

Nine of the eleven question types are marked against the answer key the moment a student submits, with no AI involved. Essays arrive as a labelled suggestion — a score, a CEFR level, how sure it is and why — and nothing is recorded until you approve or change it.

FAQ

Common questions.

Straight answers for the teacher who will use it, and for whoever brings it into the school.

Does Carna work alongside my existing coursebook?

Yes. Test Generation can start from the book and the units you teach, and your school can send us its units to be turned into interactive, auto-graded lessons; nothing goes live until your team approves it. MM Publications coursebooks are already pre-mapped.

Is Carna designed for school use, or can private tutors use it too?

Carna for Schools is licensed to institutions, so a teacher gets it through their school. Private tutors and individual learners can join the early-access list for Carna's individual tutor, and we will write when it opens.

Does the AI give the final grade?

No. Nine of the eleven question types are marked against the answer key the moment a student submits, with no AI involved. Essays arrive as a labelled AI suggestion, and nothing is recorded until you approve or change it. Reports show each student's latest attempt, not a final mark.

How much training does it take to get started?

Assigning is one window: pick a module, choose the class or a few students, set the due date and the attempts, and one action assigns and publishes it. Book a demo and we will walk your school through the rest with the teachers who will use it.
