HOSPITALITY ENGLISH

English for hospitality and tourism

Build the guest-focused English a hotel, restaurant or tour operator runs on.

Carna voices each speaker in a listening dialogue differently, so you can tell them apart

— THE PROBLEM, THE PRACTICE

What gets in the way, and the practice for it.

Three things that stop people at this goal, each beside the practice planned to remove it. Each row says whether it runs today or waits for the tutor's early access.

— WHAT YOU GET

Every score on one scale.

Whatever the goal, the engine underneath is the one schools and teams run today: eight skills, each with its own score, on the CEFR scale from A1 to C2.

FAQ

Common questions.

Straight answers for the person doing the job, and for whoever rolls it out to the team.

Is Carna suitable for front-of-house and back-of-house staff?

This path is written for guest-facing roles. For back-of-house teams the Business English path is the closer fit; both run on the same engine.

Will Carna help with email communication for hospitality?

Yes. The tutor's writing practice will cover the guest-facing emails a front desk sends, with feedback on how the message is organised and the words it chooses.

Does it cover tourism guide English?

The skills a guide leans on are the ones this path practises: clear spoken explanation, description, and handling questions from a varied audience. A dedicated tour-guiding scenario set is not something we promise yet.
